Taco Bell's box that rocks (thank you Charles Barkley) has once again been removed from the menu, replaced by the Fiesta Platters (I'll review those next week). The box DOES rock, and I'm confident we'll see it's return soon with a 5-Layer Burrito inside.
Taco Bell has a three step process with their promotional items:
- Release a delicious new item for a very low price (the Valcano Taco, for instance).
- Discontinue the item after it has gained popularity.
- Re-release the item 8-12 weeks later as part of a Box that Rocks (the Volcano BOX!)
They're only getting $0.89 for the burrito NOW, but when they re-release it in a BOX, those of us who love it (and were sad to see it go) will rush out to pay $5-$6 dollars to feast on it once again. Absolutely brilliant, in my opinion.
So fear not, those of you who like myself are sad to see the Taco Bell Box leave us! It will be back, just as big, just as cheap, and just as tasty!
