Pacific Shrimp Tacos

Hi friends,

I've been leery of the new shrimp tacos since they came out for a couple of reasons:
  1. Taco Bell is a VALUE restaurant - this is a $3.00 taco. Doesn't seem to mesh.
  2. Most of their menu items are fairly idiot proof. Shrimp are easier to screw up and harder to keep consistent.
This being said if I'm going to call myself a Taco Bell aficionado I need to try it all, so here is the review:

Good:
You don't get a lot of fishy flavor on the shrimp and they weren't rubbery like I was expecting. They had a special sauce on the taco that was kind of like a tangy ranch that reminded me of the zesty nacho sauce they used to have. Also it seemed bigger than their regular tacos, it took longer to eat and felt more substantial. It was hot and had cheese and lettuce and was altogether a good taco experience.

Bad:
It was just GOOD. For $3.00 it should have been GREAT. The quality of Taco Bell really comes out when you compare your experience to how much you paid for it. That ratio is skewed in this item.

Verdict:
Glad I tried it, nothing wrong with the item, but I won't be having it again.
